NFC Setup & Troubleshooting

NFC
QR fallback
Android
iPhone

Get started in minutes. If something doesn’t work, use the sections below for fixes specific to Android and iPhone.

  • Tap with NFC or scan the QR to verify your card opens the correct page.
  • Confirm the page that opens is your Google review page, social profile, or UPI destination—exactly as you provided when ordering.
  • Place your product where customers can spot it easily.
  • Test with 2–3 phones (Android + iPhone) for best coverage.

Android setup
  • Enable NFC: Settings > Connections (or Connected devices) > NFC.
  • Tap area is usually the back middle or upper area-move slowly along the back.
  • If nothing happens, try another brand (Samsung/Xiaomi/OnePlus) to compare.
  • Use the QR as a fallback if NFC is off or unsupported.
iPhone setup
  • iPhone XR and newer: just wake the screen and tap the top edge near the camera.
  • Older iPhones (7/8/X): use the QR code instead, as background NFC tap isn’t supported.
  • Open the Camera app, point at the QR, and tap the banner to open.

Troubleshooting

  • Ensure the screen is on; move slowly across the back of the phone.
  • Remove thick cases/metal plates; avoid metal surfaces under the card/standee.
  • Turn off Battery Saver; on Samsung, toggle NFC from Quick Panel to refresh.
  • Try another phone to isolate device-specific issues; use QR fallback as needed.

  • Increase screen brightness on the scanning phone; avoid glare on the QR.
  • Hold 15–25 cm away; let the camera focus. Try another phone.
  • If the printed QR is damaged, contact TapScan for a replacement card or standee sticker.

  • Contact TapScan support—the QR and NFC destination are set during production and may need to be corrected at our end.
  • Test in an incognito tab or on a different phone to rule out browser cache issues.

Best placement practices
  • Place near billing counters, entrances, or pickup areas-where customers pause.
  • Angle toward the flow of people; keep within easy reach for tap/scan.
  • Avoid direct glare; keep instructions short and visible.

Test checklist
Devices
  • 1 iPhone (XR or newer) + 1–2 Android (different brands).
  • Test with and without cases; try Battery Saver off on Android.
Flow
  • Tap/scan opens the correct destination instantly.
  • Placement doesn’t wobble; instructions are clear.
